In the last Part of the Sunset Route, we spend the rest of the day at Ciengra Creek near Vaili AZ. This is an extremely photogenetic location as Main 1 crosses over main 2 on a huge bridge. Around 40 trains a day go through this location and Union Pacific seems to run in bunches as well. This line also gets very active in the morning and at night as well. With parking and the many trails in this area, you can get some great photos. I highly recommend doing the UP Sunset Route .Its not as busy as the BNSF Transcon that follows Route 66, but busy enough to keep you entertained. We see 6 more trains here and bonus BNSF local in Phoenix AZ. Next stop is the BNSF Southern Transcon once again! Enjoy the video!
