The New SANTA FE Hybrid is equipped with both a petrol engine and an electric motor. Supported by a powerful lithium-ion polymer battery, the two engines ensure outstanding fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. As part of the recuperation braking system, the electric motor also helps to brake the vehicle and charges the electric drive's battery in the process.

Thanks to the dynamic duo consisting of a turbo gasoline engine with direct injection and a powerful battery-operated electric motor, the New SANTA FE advances into new dimensions in terms of fuel efficiency. And you don't have to charge the battery or change your driving habits. The hybrid switches seamlessly between electric motor and conventional motor, sometimes both drives are in use in parallel.

Thanks to the new platform, the battery pack is installed under the front passenger seat and thus ensures greater efficiency without restricting the space available for passengers or luggage.

Enjoy electric acceleration. The electric motor with 44.2 kW offers high torque and high efficiency. The acceleration when starting is also impressive.

The powerful battery with 1.49 kWh impresses with its outstanding charging / discharging properties, thus maximizing the electrical range and energy storage.

Hyundai has developed the world's first variable valve control technology with continuously variable valve duration (CVVD). It optimizes both engine performance and fuel efficiency while being environmentally friendly. With this valve control technology, the opening and closing of the valves is regulated depending on the situation.

Depending on the driving situation, the New SANTA FE Hybrid switches seamlessly between a gasoline engine and an electric motor. With braking energy recovery, the battery is charged by using the electric motor to brake the car. The energy stored in the battery then feeds the electric motor, which supports the combustion engine when accelerating, driving uphill and driving at low speed. When starting up and driving at low speed, the New SANTA FE Hybrid accelerates with the electric motor, which is fed from the energy stored in the battery.

During powerful acceleration processes and when driving uphill, the electric and gasoline motors work in parallel to ensure maximum acceleration and optimum fuel efficiency.

When driving at constant speed, the vehicle is driven either by the gasoline engine or the electric motor - depending on which solution is more energy-efficient in the respective driving situation.

With braking energy recovery, the battery is charged by using the electric motor to brake the car. The energy released when braking or driving downhill is stored in the battery.

When the vehicle is braked (such as when braking or driving downhill), the electric motor becomes a generator and converts kinetic energy into electrical energy. This energy is stored in the battery.

The new full-LED headlights are standard equipment and are equipped with unique T-shaped LED daytime running lights that catch the eye immediately.

The redesigned, elongated rear lights are connected with a red reflective tape to visually highlight the wide body.The bold, wide radiator grille with the striking 3-D pattern connects elegantly with the main headlights and creates a seamless, harmonious look.
