Most Utahns know Utah State Route 150 as the Mirror Lake Highway, a National Scenic Byway crossing the western Uinta Mountains. We ran to this high elevation hideway to escape the mid-August heat, boondocking at 10,600 feet where high temperatures were in the mid-60s, and overnight lows in the mid-30s, a full 30 degrees cooler than in the Salt Lake Valley just an hour away. In this episode we share our Mirror Lake Highway boondocking locale and also explore local Forest Service campgrounds including Washington Lake, Trial Lake and of course, Mirror Lake. We check out Provo River Falls, and share some nifty little LED camping lanterns provided to us by a company named Vont.
