This is not a sponsored video, and it features a technical presentation followed by a discussion about SPAN Panel smart electrical panels that were purchased then installed in Connecticut. You can request a quote at: https://www.span.io/panel.

With today’s higher-powered home EV charging and a greener trend toward electrifying everything - heat pump-based heating, cooling, and hot water - there’s a challenge. Typical homes have 200 amps of power available from their dumb panels, with a wire from that utility that can’t handle more than that anyway. How can you add several new high power circuits without worry? What if a smart panel could continuously monitor which circuits are using exactly how much electricity in your home? If you have or plan to get solar and/or battery storage, what if that same smart panel will allow you to easily choose or change which circuits are “Must Have” vs “Nice to Have” using their slick app? The idea is to extract the most value from your investments, maintain your family’s comfort for longer during outages, and provide accurate remaining runtime estimates.

We have Corrigan Harreys, Regional Sales Manager at SPAN, covering the product history and many benefits of the highly-rated SPAN smart panel, along with costs, smart EV charging options, and incentives. Next up will be electrician/SPAN Certified Installer David Houseman, the owner of Pure Energy LLC, who will go over the details of the initial planning visit, the duration of the actual install, and what’s to be expected throughout the entire process.

Next up, Paul Braren, a member of the EV Club of Connecticut Leadership Team. Paul recently moved, and had David install a new SPAN panel in his 33 year old home. He can now handle charging both his EVs at up to 48A speeds, along with new, fully electric heat-pump-based HVAC and hot water systems. Paul will kick off the 3 person “Span Panel Panel” (discussion), with each panelist sharing their unique, first-hand experiences and lessons learned. Finally, we’ll open the Zoom up to attendee for Q&A. Prior to this big event, you might enjoy checking out https://span.io/app where you’ll also find the easy and free to try SPAN Home app!
