In Caesar 3, you can build the ancient ancestors of famous European cities like Lyon (Lugdunum), Toledo (Toletum) and Milan (Mediolanum). In the form of a campaign mode, you have to build those cities and meet certain goals in terms of culture, prosperity and population size, while also fending off Rome's historic enemies in the respective regions.

Though the game itself can already be considered a piece of history, originally being released almost 25 years ago, we wanted to take a closer look at the historic context used in the game, and how accurately it is depicted.
