In this video we explore the affects of using "High Power" (1 Watt) Control Links have on our FPV Video performance, whether we are using Analog, HDZero, WalkSnail, or DJI.

Nobody wants to have "RX Loss" or "FailSafe" when flying, and so often we buy High Powered transmitters for your ELRS or Crossfire systems and blast 1W of power at our quad!
This certainly does create a very solid control link, but this strong RF signal is being transmitted right below our goggles which are using sensitive RF receivers to capture 5.8ghz signals from our quads.

As the 5.8ghz RF signal get weaker due to range or penetration, this control link interference begins to create performance issues, creating noise, lower bitrate, latency, ect... in our FPV video feeds.

What we demonstrate in this video is that a control link (either 2.4ghs or 900mhz) even at 100mW vastly outperforms our 5.8ghz even when they transmit at 1W.

I'm currently using Gemini which offers incredible performance! But even a basic ELRS or CRSF Tx will outperform our video links.
