Apple's accessories are not of the same quality as before and I experienced it again with the silicone Slate case that I bought direct from Apple. Discoloration, defects showing up...
So, when I saw Verizon had it on sale for $25 I grabbed one. It's a pretty good case, mostly made of leather and TPU bumpers for the sale price. I probably would not buy it at it's list price.
