I always wished that Tom Welling had worn the Christopher Reeve version of the Superman suit at the end of Smallville rather than the Brandon Routh version from Superman Returns.

1. Entire shot color-corrected to a more naturalistic palette.
2. Routh shield painted out frame-by-frame.
3. Reeve shield animated into position by hand (I don't know much about After Effects, so I did the tracking / rotation / scaling / exposure visually rather than it being automated).
4. Shutter transformation added for more realistic motion smoothing and camera blur.
5. Reeve shield mockup in AutoCAD, likewise with shutter transformation, for final animation.
