An overview of the key findings of the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2023.

Switzerland, Sweden, the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Singapore are the world’s most-innovative economies, the GII finds, while a group of middle-income economies have emerged over the past decade as the fastest climbers of the ranking.

Published on September 27, 2023, the GII 2023 ranks the innovation performance of 132 countries and economies around the world. Themed "Innovation in the face of uncertainty", this year’s edition takes the pulse of global innovation trends against the background of an economic environment fraught with uncertainty.
