A revolutionary information service has emerged in Dumfries and Galloway, catering specifically to Autistic adults. Named "Good Connections for Autistic Adults," this initiative aims to centralize essential information about services, activities, and employment opportunities. The project facilitates direct connections between Autistic adults, their families or carers, and relevant support networks.

The welcoming atmosphere of Good Connections invites anyone with an autism diagnosis, self-identifying as autistic, or providing informal care to engage with knowledgeable staff.

Some team members bring personal experiences with autism, ensuring a supportive environment. Monthly drop-in events offer a platform for individuals to explore various organizations, each carefully selected to provide information, foster connections, and share the services they offer.

The Usual Place, the venue for these events, extends its commitment beyond scheduled gatherings. During regular opening hours, the café will have staff available to assist autistic individuals in establishing connections with social or employment opportunities and accessing relevant support services.
