Hello Lemongrass season!
I wanted to share with you all how we like to take care of our lemongrass we grow every year, how we take care of the stalk, how we wrap/roll the leaves, and how to save the roots to be planted next season. Since we live in the pacific northwest where it's quite rainy and cold during fall to winter, we like to keep our lemongrass in the freezer so we can have it handy for when we want to put it into soups, stir fry, tea, etc. So I hope this video helps you in possibly planting your own lemongrass next season or how to handle/ preserve them. In Hmong Leeg, lemongrass is called Tauj Qab. Tauj Dub is the Hmong white dialect. So hopefully you don't get confused since we speak Hmong Leeg in our family. Anyways, let me know what you like to use lemongrass in and how you like to store it. Cheers!

About Cindy

My Name is Cindy Her, I am a full time Pastry Chef in the Pacific Northwest and part time food content creator for C.HerCreations (C.HawjCreations). I specifically focus on Hmong food I grew up eating but I also venture into other South East Asian food as well.

As a second generation Hmong American woman, my goal is to teach you what Hmong people love to eat, what we cook, how we cook it, how it has evolved, and how we enjoy it. I want you to learn a little bit more about the Hmong food culture and I hope you all stay tuned on this culinary adventure with me. As always, happy cooking :)
