BMW's plug-in hybrid X5 might be the perfect X5, or deeply flawed depending on your perspective. If you get the full tax credit, it'll be the least expensive AWD X5 by a decent margin, but if you never plug it in, the fuel economy won't be that much better than the regular X5. Performance numbers are identical to the non-hybrid model, but BMW charges more for the X5 lease. 32 miles of EV range is pretty good, but the charging speeds are glacial.
