Will Smith is the Genie in Disney’s 2019 Aladdin musical adaptation, replacing Robin Williams’ hilarious animated performance, for Guy Ritchie’s live action film. The film stars Mena Massoud in the title role, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. Alan Tudyk, Nasim Pedrad, Navid Negahban and Numan Acar also star. Ritchie and John August wrote the screenplay.

Will Smith, Mena Massoud, & Naomi Scott joined Ritchie and composer Alan Menken for the film’s press conference which took place at The Rosewood Hotel in London following the film’s European Gala.

The film is out in the UK on the 22nd of May, and everywhere else by the 24th of May.


SYNOPSIS: A kindhearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.
