We added the FSD Subscription to our Tesla Model Y as soon as it became available. Since then, we have had the opportunity to see if the $200/mo price tag is worth the limited Full Self Driving features.

In July, the subscription to FSD was finally released. The subscription has 2 levels, based on the package you vehicle already has. If you have basic Autopilot, the subscription cost is $200 per month. If you have Enhanced Autopilot, the subscription cost is $100 per month.

Although EAP is not offered as a package right now in the U.S., it does come available from time to time and can be between $4,000 and $5,000 to activate. EAP gets you all FSD features except for Stop Sign and Stop Light Control and Autosteer on City Streets.

With that, EAP is the best value autonomous package you can add to your Tesla, but again, it is not always available for purchase. So at this time, if you want any of the Autonomy features of FSD, you have to purchase FSD for $10,000 or subscribe for $200 per month.

After a month of driving I don't think most people will find the $200 per month a good value. However, for road trips and summer travel, I do think there is value in adding the subscription then cancelling when you stop frequent road trips.
