On Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, the LBJ Foundation awarded its most prestigious honor, the LBJ Liberty & Justice for All Award, to Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The award recognizes those who carry on President Lyndon Baines Johnson's commitment to do the greatest good for the greatest number.

The LBJ Liberty & Justice for All Award ceremony took place at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Judy Woodruff, anchor and managing editor of PBS NewsHour, served as emcee. The program included an award presentation by Johnson daughters, Luci Baines Johnson and Lynda Johnson Robb, and a conversation with Speaker Pelosi, moderated by Ron Kirk, the former mayor of Dallas.
