In this video, we will learn how pressurized water reactor (PWR) power stations work. PWRs are the most common type of nuclear reactor in the world, the other common type being the BWR.

Here is a brief overview of how a PWR works:

1. Water is pumped under high pressure to the reactor core.
2. The water is heated by the energy released by the fission of atoms in the fuel rods.
3. The hot water is then pumped to a steam generator, where it transfers its heat to a separate water loop (secondary system).
4. The secondary system water in the steam generator boils, creating steam.
5. The steam is then used to turn a turbine, which generates electricity.
6. The steam is then condensed back into water and pumped back to the steam generator.
