Jay Winter is a leading expert on the topic of World War I, as demonstrated in his renowned PBS/BBC series "The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century." Over decades-long research, writing, and teaching on the topic at Yale University and beyond, Winter has contributed innumerable books, essays, and insight on wartime politics, culture, and atrocity.
