Ants, cockroaches, and rodents like rats & mice make up some of the more common house pests in the United States. Most homeowners are going to face at least one of these pests at some point, and these pests are responsible for causing minor to significant damage. They can spread filth and disease or cause major property or foundational damage, so in this video, we’ll go over these 3 common home pests and give you easy tips on how to control them.

Ants are one of the more annoying insects homeowners have to deal with. They’ll invade indoor spaces in massive numbers looking for food to take back to their nest. What makes ants tricky to control is you often can’t treat them directly. If you think you may be dealing with an ant problem, be on the lookout for scout ants. Keep track of these ants, and take note of where the scouts go and how they enter and exit your structure. Once the scout ants have left, you’ll want to treat the areas they’ve traveled over with a long-lasting residual insecticide like Reclaim IT.

Cockroaches are some of the more disgusting pests you’ll deal with in your home. Roaches can be divided into two main categories: Outdoor and Indoor cockroaches. If you’re dealing with an indoor roach infestation, one of the most effective products you can use is a roach bait like Apex Cockroach Gel Bait. Apex is an effective gel bait designed to kill roaches slowly after consumption. This gives the roach time to travel back its nest before it dies, thus spreading the lethal poison to others. If you’re dealing with frequent outdoor roaches, you can apply Ficam Insect Bait. Ficam is a ready-to-use granular insecticide that contains orthoboric acid. Roaches that consume the bait will die shortly.

Rodents like rats and mice are the only non-insects on this list. They can invade structures throughout the year but tend to do so more frequently during the winter when food, water, and shelter are scarce. Rodents can cause a variety of damage: they can spread disease, chew holes into walls, or bite through wiring. To get control of a rodent infestation on your property, you’ll need to use a variety of products like Easy Set Snap Traps, Professional Rodent Glue Trays, and Eratication Rodenticide Bait Blocks set inside a Rat & Mouse Bait Station. When set properly, you should notice significantly reduced rodent activity after about 2 weeks.
