Hi Friends! This is an odd little kit. Today we will look at the Artistro watercolor set of 48: https://amzn.to/3cVrl32 (affiliate link and product was provided for free to review)
This is the ceramic palette I use: https://amzn.to/3uw1Xa5
Pros:
Cute tin
Nice waterbrush, pencil, and eraser
Vibrant colors
Comes with a pack of paper so you can use it right away
Cons:
No mixing area in tin
The colors are a bit chalky
Very little movement (flow) with these paint
Odd selection of colors and it is missing essential colors for mixing such as Pthalo blue and yellow ochre
Price (I expect more for a set of paint that costs over $25)
Bottom line: These paints aren't for me. I think anyone wanting to learn traditional watercolor painting will struggle with these. That said, they work well on cardstock and other unsized papers due to their viscosity so I think they might be nice for scrapbookers, cardmakers, bible journalers, brush letterers, planner enthusiasts (or even adult coloring book enthusiasts) as those papers tend to have less sizing. The paints reactivate very well and are vivid and can be used on plain drawing paper well so it might be a good choice for a kid that burns through supplies but at this price, I think there are better options such as the Pretty Excellent watercolors: https://amzn.to/3dG3Eeq
These Atristro paints aren't for me but depending on your hobby might be right for you.
