The Model S Plaid was first presented as part of Tesla’s Battery day presentation in September 2020. The performance of the Model S has been as impressive and likely even better than the competition in the electric vehicle market. The Porsche Taycan, a super-fast, luxurious four-seater sports car, has been the most significant competitor. Many reviews called it a better drive than the Tesla Model S. Both cars have, however, stood their ground and proven to be equals in the world of EVs.
The Tesla Model S has undergone monstrous upgrades in its 2021 Plaid sequel version. As we mentioned, the Model S Plaid was showed off as part of Tesla's Battery day presentation in September 2020, in which it was left clear that the electric vehicle is a step up from the last updated Tesla Ludicrous trim level, bringing the car from 0-60mph in 1.99 seconds while reaching a considerable top speed of 200mph. The Plaid was confirmed to have a range of 390 miles. Some of the specs of the Model S Plaid plus would have included having an impressive 1,100 horsepower and three motors, but as it was confirmed in the Sunday the 10th event, the Model S Plaid Plus version has been canceled due to Tesla’s CEO considering it as “unnecessary”, stating that the Model S Plaid’s standard version is such a capable vehicle by itself that a premium version wouldn’t be worth producing, so we’ll have to see if this new show-stealer lives up to the expectations.
