From the DGA Archive: a symposium featuring the directors of the DGA-nominated Theatrical Feature Films of 2007 including Directors Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood), Joel and Ethan Coen (No Country for Old Men), Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayoton), and Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly).

On January 26, 2008, Directors Anderson, the Coen brothers, Gilroy, and Schnabel gathered in the DGA theater along with moderator Jeremy Kagan to discuss the craft of directing feature film. The fifth nominee, director Sean Penn (Into the Wild), was unable to attend.

The group traded stories and insights during an in-depth exploration of the directorial process. Topics include into the casting the film's central roles, pulling off some of the most difficult shots, and what they love (and do not love) about directing.
