Businesses throughout Southeast Alaska are bracing for a financial hit after major cruise lines canceled their 2020 sailings because of the coronavirus pandemic.
A report from the Southeast Conference projected that 90% of tourists would arrive in the area via cruise ship this season.
Southeast was forecasted to get about 1.4 million visitors who were expected to spend nearly $800 million.
The lack of passengers will have devastating impacts on small businesses that are changing operations to get by.
