The fashion industry has a plastic problem. Currently polyester makes up around 50% of global fiber production – but the material is made from fossil fuels and creates microplastic pollution when garments are washed.

Watch this engrossing DLD24 conversation between Katrin Ley (Fashion for Good) and Alissa Baier-Lentz, Co-Founder of Kintra Fibers, to find out about a brand new, all-natural alternative to Polyester.

Kintra’s biobased material has the great advantage of being compatible with existing production facilities, as Alissa Baier-Lentz explains, and widespread adoption of biobased fibers like Kintra’s could replace 10-15% of polyester usage within 5 years if demand increases.
