How to ensure that your dividend stock portfolio is robust and will keep giving you dividends even during the worst market conditions. As that would be the best scenario for you if or even when that time comes. Historically stock market had significant corrections approximately every 10 years. The corrections either spread apart but more significant.. or actually happen often but lighter. Or some come out of nowhere like last year.

So having a divided stock portfolio that would produce you passive income and growth regardless of the stock market conditions is a good way.

The key is to make sure the company can afford its dividend regardless of the market environment. What is even better is owning a stock that is consistently and regularly raising its dividend. A stock that frequently raises its dividend also must have a good balance sheet, solid business fundamentals, and be producing a growing stream of cash flows. You can’t raise your dividend if your business isn’t progressing forward.
