The month of Shawwal ul Mukarram comes after the month of Ramadan. Muslims celebrate Eid ul Fitr on the 1st of Shawwal. Fasting for 6 days in Shawwal, after Eid-ul-Fitr is considered a highly rewarding act in Islam.
According to a narration, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated that fasting these six days in Shawwal, along with Ramadan, is equivalent to fasting for the entire year.
