An afternoon catching reef fish in the Southern California surf. Featuring cabezon, rockfish, calico bass, and a leopard shark; all caught from shore. Bait of choice for the session was squid.

From San Diego to Santa Barbara, the SoCal coastline supports an abundance of wildlife (birds, fish, mussels, etc.). This is the first entry in our new series highlighting the diverse beach landscapes and opportunities available to surf fishermen in our local waters.
