The video shows experiments on a number of stainless steel tubes, which were tested to destruction, under external hydrostatic pressure. This work is of much importance in the design of deep diving submarines in our oceans. One of these tubes collapsed at an external pressure of about 1000 bar; which is equivalent to a water depth of about 10 km!
