My brain and heart are really at war over this, torn apart but eventually I know they'll reconcile and agree by finding a middle ground but damn! On a first impression like this it is hard to get used to the shift of vibes! But the thing is (and I totally see how ironic it is) I appreciate the reason why they're doing it SO MUCH! They're giving us the Red and the Velvet and no one else could do it like this but yeah, I know I will need some time to grow used to the change of drastic atmosphere here. It's like they're two very different temperatures in this song and they're at complete opposite and so it's giving me some kind of whiplash effect. I LOVE the verses so much it's painful; they're cold, chilling, haunting, so delicious! The chorus is great and catchy on it's own: warm, welcoming, as if you're sitting around a fire place in good company, creating lasting memories etc. And don't even get me started in the bridge UGH! SO good! Loved their acting here too but I think one way to bring out the story line and acting even more could have been by releasing a drama version of this, or like a short movie where we could actually hear the dialogues, the sound effects so that the chilling sensation and angst could take more effect since the build up would take a bit longer? I love my short movies lol Still, I really enjoyed but and I know for a fact it will grow on me but yeah, upon first listen like this, the shift is a bit daunting!
