Question 9:

There is an ayah in the Quran which says that you might hate something which is good for you and you might like something and it is bad for you. At the same time, there is a Hadith telling us to ask from Allah with full conviction that He is capable of granting what a person is asking for. How do we practically balance these two somewhat opposing messages? Also, at what point should a person give up and accept that something was not meant to be?
