Sheikh Navaid Aziz addresses some of the issues that Muslims in Canada are facing in light of Islamophobia and how that impacts their day-to-day life, Iman, and their confidence in outwardly practicing the deen.

Sheikh Navaid Aziz was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec where he completed a diplome d’etudes collegiales in Social Sciences from Champlain College. He graduated from the Islamic University of Madinah with an associates degree in the Arabic language and a Bachelor’s in Islamic Law. He has served as an Imam in Calgary since 2012, and is also the director of Public Relations for Al Maghrib Institute Canada.

The I.LEAD conference is one of the remarkable annual events held by the United Muslim Organizations in Ottawa and Gatineau (UMO-OG) with its 12 member mosques in the National Capital Region. The conference target audience is the Muslim community youth and the public in general. It showcases a number of prominent scholars and influential speakers, besides the bazaar and its exceptional shopping experience.
