On Wednesday 25 February 2015 the millionth DAF truck was produced in Eindhoven. The very first DAF truck was manufactured in 1949 and since 1996 DAF is part of American truck manufacturer Paccar. DAF, abbreviation of "Van Doorne's Trailer Factory N.V." later moved to Van Doorne's Automobile Factory N.V., a car and freight manufacturer founded by Hub van Doorne on April 1, 1928.
