Anyone working at ANY height should be fully trained and insured to do so and use the correct access equipment. Anyone working on ANY project does so at their own risk!

This how to video deals with pointing or repointing brickwork often found on brick walls, chimney stacks or lead flashings to roofs.

The method I'm using here I have found to be very good at stopping the ingress of water, particularly when used with any sort of roof flashing as well. Getting mortar right to the back of any chase is often the key for long life, stopping mortar blowing out and preventing water ingress long term.

The video on how to mix mortar in a bucket or larger amounts is available in full on this web page : http://www.fixmyroof.co.uk/mix-cement...

If you want a stainless steel pointing trowel they can be found on this page : http://www.fixmyroof.co.uk/stainless-... via an affiliate.

In the video you see me touch wet mortar with my bare hands, do not do this in case of cement burns. I only do this in the video as I cannot operate a camera with gloved hands. I also show a diamond mortar rake without a safety guard, this is so you can see how the tool works and at no time should you do the same thing.

I hope this is useful...
