Cancer care has made tremendous strides of the last few decades. With new technologies and advancements in treatment, people that have been diagnosed are living longer than ever. However, there is a huge part of cancer patient treatment that has been unexplored and under appreciated. What about the emotional and mental well-being of those going through cancer treatment? In this talk Cort Davies explores the science beyond fighting cancer and why we should also be focusing on the mental health of those in treatment. Cort Davies is an author, producer, and cancer thriver who, through his experiences, has set out to change the paradigm around the way we see and experience cancer. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
