Did you know that 1 in 5 South Koreans suffer from hair loss? You certainly wouldn’t notice it when you watch your favorite K-dramas or Korean shows, because you’d almost never see any bald people. In fact, being bald in Korea appears to be heavily stigmatized. Korean men are spending so much money on hair loss treatments to stop from going bald that one of the failed presidential candidates even proposed that hair loss treatments be covered by the national health insurance program. So how are bald people perceived in Korean society?
