Popular DJ Roger Berg is shot through the neck with a high caliber handgun while lying in bed. Eyewitnesses to the shooting point investigators towards a jealous ex-boyfriend with a simmering vendetta. Sgt. Joe Kenda initiates a city-wide manhunt, but Berg's killer has already dropped off the map.
