Destiny 2's Lore and Story after the Final Shape will pivot to Echoes, a narrative that will center around The Vex. These mysterious time-traveling robots have the terrifying power to simulate perfect copies of our reality so long as no truly godlike forces are involved, such as guardians or The Witness. Lacking those forces, The Vex can effectively play god. This forces us to ask if the world around us is real or a simulation and whether the Ishtar Collective Team, who experienced this power for themselves, might have some way of countering it.
