Welcome to the first episode of 2023! At the Palm Springs International Film Festival, I had the honor of attending the world premiere of the documentary, 'Shot in the Arm,' about the alarming spread of health-related misinformation. The film discusses the rise in vaccine-preventable diseases such as polio and measles, and explores the active exploitation of vulnerable parents by anti-vaccine propagandists. The film also features compelling stories by vaccine experts, researchers and pediatricians, Drs. Peter Hotez and Paul Offit; compassionate nurse practitioner, Blima Marcus; and relentless health advocate, Karen Ernst.

In this episode, I sit down with director, Scott Hamilton Kennedy, and executive producer and science educator, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and discuss the timeliness of their riveting film. Grateful to producer, Maureen Flannigan, who served as camerawoman!
