Again and again, we hear people say that Delta SkyMiles are worthless. Some even call them SkyPesos.

They're wrong.

Delta SkyMiles can definitely be difficult to understand and use. Unlike many airline miles that have set rules for how much a flight should cost (called an award chart), the amount of SkyMiles you'll pay to book a flight can vary drastically.

That makes it harder to figure out what's a good deal and what's not. And in some cases, it means you'll pay a fortune (in SkyMiles) for the flights you're looking for.

Bottom line: SkyMiles aren't worthless. Just the opposite, in fact. You just need to put in some extra work and follow these tips to see that.
