I hope some of you remember the trimming of this large, stepped bowl, well, this is the conclusion to that video! (You can watch that here in full if you like:    • I Was Always Told to Not Trim the Ins...  ). I show the frankly embarrassing glazing of this vessel, how its waxed, packed into my gas kiln and fired to cone ten, 1290ºC and finally the unpacking process and the sanding of the finished, reduction fired pots... which, I utterly love!

⏱ • Timecodes:
0:00 - Introduction
0:30 - Packing the bowls into the electric kiln to be bisque fired to 1000ºC
1:21 - Waxing the base
1:56 - Glazing the bowls
4:13 - Cleaning up the glazed surfaces
8:20 - Packing & reduction firing the gas kiln to 1290ºC
11:00 - The finished bowls!
11:32 - Sanding their bases
12:03 - Close ups...

*It's worth noting! That you won't get the same results as I do if you're firing in oxidation. The reduction firing really helps with this process.

*I throw using both a Rohde HMT 500 & 600 potter's wheel and fire using Rohde kilns too, the electric is a TE-200 and the gas kiln is a KG-340.
