The Equinox is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Chevrolet’s lineup with the Silverado standing alone at the top. If you look at the new 2018 Chevy Equinox you will notice a lot of GM familiarity in the design. There is an uncanny resemblance to many other Chevy vehicles including the Cruze, Malibu, and the Volt.

The Equinox comes with a range of turbocharged engines that range in size from 1.5 liter up to the top-of-the-line 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine seen here that makes 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy figures come in at 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. Gone is the naturally aspirated V-6 engine.

On the inside the Equinox you will find a smartly designed layout. This is considered a compact SUV but the legroom and cargo space are good. The leather is nice and the controls are laid out in an easy to use manner.

The base price of an Equinox is right around $24,000 and the test model seen here is almost $40,000 which is a lot for a compact SUV. Of course you may not need all the extras.
