PhysicsWallah launches a school:

1. Edtech unicorn PhysicsWallah has now launched their own school - called PW Gurukulam School in Gurugram.
2. This school will be affiliated with the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and will provide education to students from pre-nursery up to class 7.
3. It will also have 400 students in their inaugural batch.

First Indian patient treated with CAR-T Therapy:

1. In the US and other developed world, CAR-T cell Therapy has been a godsend for cancer patients.
2. But this cancer treatment was never available in India that was until last year.
3. Just recently, Dr V K Gupta, who had a failed bone marrow transplant in 2022, is the first Indian patient treated with indigenously developed CAR-T Therapy to be declared “free of cancer cells”.

Shark Tank India Season 3 Controversy:

1. On 30th January, Tramboo Sports, a Kashmir-based willow bat manufacturer, pitched on Shark Tank India’s season 3 and they even received a deal from Aman Gupta and Piyush Bansal.
2. But soon after getting the deal, they got sued by the Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK).
3. The association disputed some of the claims made by Tramboo Sports regarding their bats.

Paytm Payments Bank Update:

1. RBI isn’t happy with Paytm and probably won’t be giving Paytm any extra time to comply as they’ve already given them plenty.
2. Paytm is left with no option but to find a way to migrate their 3 crore merchants out of which 60 lakh use Paytm Payments Bank accounts for their payments to different banks.
3. These accounts once migrated to a different bank will have to do their KYC from scratch.

Update from Ola Electric’s “Break All Barriers” event:

1. Ole Electric live streamed their “Break All Barriers” event on YouTube and announced some ambitious targets.
2. They announced the latest version of their Ola S1 X series of electric scooters - it’s the 3KWh (kilo watt hour) variant - which is priced at Rs 90,000
3. The company has claimed to increase the number of service centres by 50% to 600 in the next 2-3 months by April 2024.

Karnataka puts an end to surge pricing from Ola and Uber:

1. For years, users of Ola and Uber have complained about hikes in fares during peak hours.
2. Previously, the Karnataka government had a pricing system where cab aggregators could charge a minimum and maximum fare per kilometre.
3. But with the new changes, the Karnataka government has removed that clause and fixed a price for each kilometre that companies can charge based on the vehicle.

Funding news:

1. This week, Indian startups raised a total of 169 million dollars.
2. Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer River, which has raised 40 million dollars in their series B round.
3. New Delhi-based e-commerce brand Globalbees which raised 18 million dollars in debt.
4. Hyderabad-based smart home automation startup Keus, which has raised 12 million dollars.
5. Mumbai-based Khyaal has raised 4.2 million dollars in their seed round.
6. Bengaluru-based Upliance.ai has raised 4 million dollars in their seed round
7. Gurugram-based ControlZ has raised 3 million dollars in their seed round.
