2,4-D Amine is a liquid herbicide concentrate used to control broadleaf weeds, brush, and other woody plants including trees. This product is made with the active ingredient 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid, simply abbreviated as “2,4-D.” 2,4-D Amine is selective & post-emergent, meaning it will work to kill labeled weeds while grasses will go unharmed.

Before using any pesticides, we recommend you wear your proper personal protective equipment or PPE. And remember to keep children and pets away from treated areas until the application has completely dried.

For general use on lawns and ornamental turfs, we recommend you mix and apply 2,4-D Amine using a 1 or 1.5-gallon handheld sprayer, at a rate of 2 to 3.16 pints per acre. For smaller applications, this breaks down to 0.72 to 1.1 fluid ounces per 1,000 square feet.

To mix, add half the water into the pump sprayer, add your measured amount of product, then add the remaining half of the water and close the sprayer. Shake the sprayer to agitate, and pump to produce a low-pressure spray.

With low pressure, spray weeds directly and use a fan setting to thoroughly coat the leaves’ surface. The product needs to make contact with the leaves in order to absorb into the targeted plant. Spray the weed to the point of wet, not runoff. For better results, mix this product with a surfactant like Alligare 90 Wetting Agent before application. Alligare 90 will cause the spray solution to have less surface tension when it hits plants, preventing the liquid from beading up and covering more surface area with the product.

You should start to see visible results of treated weeds browning and wilting within 2 weeks. If necessary, you may make a 2nd application 21 days after your initial treatment. For the most effective results, we recommend you make your treatment when your targeted weed is growing strongly.
