Today, I will be going over famous investor Peter Lynch. Specifically, one of his speeches from 1994 where he talked about how retail investors can win in the market. I encourage everyone to look this up and listen for themselves, as everything he speaks about is still relevant over 20 years later.

One thing Peter really has a problem with is when people believe they can’t outperform the market. I believe that is simply not true. Whenever the media and influencers say retail can’t win, it causes investors to act accordingly. It makes sense, if you have no chance of winning or beating the market, why spend any time researching or educating yourself on investing?

People own stocks, don’t know why they own it other than “sucker is going up”. If you can’t tell a ten-year-old in two minutes or less why you own a stock, you shouldn’t own it.
