This is my story of how I suffered a severe eye injury using a 3in cut-off wheel.

Using a cheap electric grinder on my vintage jet boat conversion, I suffered a traumatic eye injury while I was working without safety glasses or equipment. The cutoff wheel (or grinder wheel to some) hit me in the face, breaking my nose, lacerating my eyelid, and causing blunt force trauma to my eye, blinding me in that eye.

It is currently 50/50 on if I will regain full sight again or not, but I am optimistic.

I want to use this as a reminder to all that our bodies are not as tough as our egos, and to PLEASE, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY GEAR!
