So throughout the entirety of NFL history, the running back in American football has always been one of the most important and overall exciting positions to watch on the field. But how has the running back's style of play changed over the course of the league's history, and which running back's truly separated themselves from others in their respective eras? Those are the questions I hope I can answer for you in this video as we dive into the complete NFL timeline of the running back. Anyway, if you enjoyed this video at all then like and comment if you want, and you can even subscribe and turn on notifications if you think I've earned it.

Anyway, this video is kind of similar style to a video by the NFL throwback channel where they talk about how every team got its name. I also think they have another one on the NFL explained, or maybe on the evolution of the NFL helmet. To me, the best running back in NFL history are Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, and Jim Brown, but it's all subjective based off of personal preference and how you weigh their statistics.
