Welcome, scansion fans! This week marks the first episode in a series I'm calling VERSIFIED where I take a prose speech and turn it into iambic pentameter verse, in order to show how similar it is to our everyday English speaking patterns.

The monologue being featured today is one from Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 4 Episode 12 "The Wounded." It's a really moving speech spoken by Chief Miles O'Brien, and I thought it'd be a great candidate for versifying!

Comment down below with anything you liked or something you would have done differently! Personally, looking back on it now that I've already edited and uploaded everything, I would have just elongated "It's" to "it is" in the second to last line and had a normal line of verse instead of having a weird headless line lol.
