In this video we hike the stairs at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, a fun little 58-acre park along Jefferson Blvd just southeast of Downtown Culver City.

The trail is located just south of Ballona Creek along Jefferson Blvd, and just west of La Cienega Blvd.

The major feature of the trail is a steep stairwell that shoots straight to the top of the hill. There are 282 steps to the top (so we're told) and the whole ascent is only about .15 miles. Combined with the surrounding switchback trail, it's about 1.25 miles total, which means some people like to do it more than once if they're looking for a morning workout burn.

One thing that disappointed us a bit was the limited hours of the Nature Center. We visited on a Wednesday and it said it was closed. According to the official park website (3/24/2017) the hours are:

Monday: 2pm-6pm
Tuesday: CLOSED
Wednesday: CLOSED
Thursday: CLOSED
Friday: 3pm-6pm
Saturday: 9:30am-6pm
Sunday: 9:30am-6pm

The park itself is open from 8 a.m. to sunset, but we found people already using the trail pre-8.a.m just because the sun had already come up that day.

In the summer time it'll look significantly less green than in the footage above, and the trail will be significantly more dusty, so that's something to bear in mind. The upside is that the views (on a clear day) will always be pretty stellar.
