Improved Performance. If you've already swapped out for or plan on swapping out for the popular Performance Improvement Heads for your Mustang GT, you'll also want to check out this Ford Racing Performance Improvement Intake Manifold. In addition, if you have a damaged intake manifold on your pony, this will work as a direct replacement component. This intake manifold is designed to fit all 1996 to 2004 Ford Mustang GTs with Performance Improvement heads. This is a direct replacement for all 2001 to 2004 Mustang GTs. As for all 1996 to 2000 Mustang GTs, you'll need to install a new alternator bracket to complete the setup, but that's it. You can use aftermarket throttle bodies and intake plenums with this intake manifold. Durable Construction. Ford Racing uses a black composite material to make this intake manifold, while the crossover piece is made of aluminum. Its effective RPM operation range is from about 0 to 6,000 RPM. This honestly isn't the ideal setup if you're looking to build an ultra-aggressive naturally aspirated Mustang. Straightforward Setup. This is a moderately advanced installation that shouldn't be attempted by inexperienced newbies. Before you attempt installing this intake manifold, get a fresh set of gaskets, including a new thermostat gasket, plus new coolant. If you're just swapping out the intake manifold and not the cylinder heads at the same time, plan on this job taking about three to four hours.
