Stem cells, the cells that provide the blueprint for how all other specialized cells (e.g. nerve, cardiac, blood, etc.) are created, have generated quite a buzz in the research community over the past decade. Stem cells can help regenerate or repair tissues in individuals that have been affected by certain diseases – including epilepsy.

This webinar will discuss an approved, pioneering cell therapy approach that could provide a disease-modifying treatment for drug-resistant focal epilepsy. Viewers will learn about the promising new data released thus far from this study, which will be presented by Dr. Robert Beach from SUNY Upstate Medical University, and they will hear more about clinical trial experience and immediate impact of this regenerative cell therapy from the first patient enrolled in this study. This webinar is conducted in partnership with Neurona Therapeutics.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Robert Beach, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Epilepsy Program at SUNY Upstate Medical University. His clinical interests include epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, seizures, antiepileptic therapies (medical, surgical and experimental) and differential diagnosis of seizures.
