#pestcontrol #pests #pestsolutions
As its name suggests, since its launch in 1970, Irish Spring Soap has primarily been used as a deodorant soap.
However, due to its strong scent and essential oils it's found another, more unorthodox use, as an insect repellent.
There have been other varieties of the soap released, in varying scents and forms, but the original deodorant bar is the only one said to have repellent properties.
Over time people have started using the product in a number of creative ways, to repel pests.
This video will show you the best ways to use Irish spring soap to get rid of unwanted pests.
1.
Repelling mice.
Mice are notorious for finding their way into our homes, especially during the colder months.
One of the most common uses of Irish Spring soap is as a mouse repellent.
Some people swear by placing bars of Irish Spring soap in areas where mice are known to frequent, such as in basements, garages, and around outdoor sheds.
Here’s how to use it: Place small chunks of Irish Spring soap in areas where mice are likely to enter, such as near baseboards, in crawl spaces, and under cabinets.
Refresh the soap every few weeks to maintain its effectiveness.
You can also Use a cheese grater to create smaller soap pieces.
Combining Irish Spring soap with steel wool for added mouse-proofing power also works well.
